Yall follow this a lot more than me, but it seemed like he started really well last year and then it all kind of fell apart. Either his stuff just got figured out (according to some on here), or he just lost it.

Not a great start to the season so far to say the least.

So those that pay much closer attention: What's the deal?

They played last year too. And didn't he struggle in the back half of the season? Correct me if I am wrong

Cowan's stuff doesnt play against small teams like Nicholls. They are use to seeing this speed pitcher.

Plays up vs the big boys as its a change of pace.

Gave up a run, we should probably just give him to Nicholls

Cowan is built for Omaha

Lack of velocity gives elite teams trouble, he throws strikes, and the ball park plays huge

Way too much of the plate right now and throwing belt high.. teams are going to sit on the change up. They started doing it last year. He’s going to have to command the plate extremely well, stuff is obviously not overpowering.

His best pitch is his changeup. Sometimes hitters jump on his fastball. He's at his best when he gets the hitters guessing (like any pitcher ever)

It's also early in the season and Nicholls has been off to an awful start, so sometimes the approach is go up there hacking because whatever you're doing ain't working

He started off good last year but teams figured him out at the end of season

Not really a power arm with a true out pitch. Don’t get me wrong the changeup is great but he’s been leaving it up lately.

That’s not true.

He throws beach balls up there and they smash him as well.

There’s more to it than it’s just game 5.

Cowan has struggled since the end of last season and hasn’t looked good at all since the middle of last season.

He’s was bad against A&M last year at the end of the year; Evans bailed him out big time in the clinching game against Ark LR where we fell behind 5-1 with a struggling Cowan. He’s wasn’t good this weekend against milwaukee
