Oregon Could Vote to Ban Hunting and Fishing – Proposed Law Would Classify Both as Cruelty to Animals

A petition to ban hunting and ranching in Oregon is nearing the number of signatures needed to be placed on this fall’s ballot.

David Michelson, the organizer of Initiative Petition 28, said supporters have gathered about 105,000 of the 117,713 verified signatures needed by July 2, according to Fox affiliate KPTV.

“If it makes it on the ballot and is approved by voters in November, the protections that currently apply to pets such as dogs and cats would extend to wild animals, livestock, and animals used in research,” the outlet reported. “Supporters call the proposal the PEACE Act, short for People for the Elimination of Animal Cruelty Exemptions. Supporters say the measure is intended to protect animals from abuse, neglect, and killing.”

Colorado tried last year under a “no trophy hunting” law that left the definition of trophy up to the governor pretty much.

That doesn’t just ban hunting and fishing. That outright bans ALL consumption of meat and animal products. Government enforced veganism.

This is even crazier than the title in the article:

ban hunting and ranching

If they ban ranching then they should be banned from importing food into the state that was raised on a ranch.

African tribes hunt and fish for their sustenance. So this law seems racist.

Democratic scum cities dictating to the rest of the states was unforeseen.

Not entirely. This is why we have the Electoral College, so a few highly populated areas can’t entirely rule over less populated states.

Just wait. There will be an addendum to the bill exempting Native American tribes from the hunting and fishing ban. Watch.

In the liberal point of view, the only thing better than an outright ban… is a selective ban. They won’t be able to resist it.

If we allow the Marxsit Dems to regain power, this type of idiocy will become normal. And will open up another avenue for them to attack the 2A.

Given the Oregon tribes are apart of the reservation system...they own aboriginal hunting anf fishing rights within their reservation system so any State law changes would not affect the lands under tribal management.
