Murders of police officers seem to be happening daily

We put up with a lot of crap from certain demographics. And then we get lectured and cancelled for noticing.
How long can this go on?

My son was on the Fire Dept that I retired from for about 4 years, he got selected to attend the LA State Police Academy, so he quit the FD and has been in training for about 7 weeks now. I'm not real excited about it as I worry about his safety. In fact, he told me a story about his first week, they put him in a scenario of pulling over a car for erratic driving, he said he got out and started walking towards the car and the guy got out and shot him in the face before he knew what was going on. The trainer said that's what he expected since he had no prior law enforcement training. My son told me, dad, that's when I knew that this is for real, I said, you bet your arse it's real and it's good you got shot in training and not on the side of the road. The FD has its own level of danger but for the most part, one of them is not being shot at, most people are happy to see the FD as we're there to help. I told him my concerns, but he was hell bent on changing careers, I just keep my mouth shut, act like I support his decision, and pray for his protection but I'm not overjoyed about it.

As I said in another post, nothing will change until white people change.

White people's great-great grandfathers reached for shotguns and ammunition when shite like this happened. White people today reach for their keyboard.

The day white people actually do something will be a busy news day.

By the way, I'm not advocating for white people to do anything. I'm just making an observation and giving an opinion.

If white folks acted like black folks and democrats and started destroying cities and attacking people every time something like this happens, then maybe it wouldn't happen as much. I don't know. Just a thought.

Just to be clear, white people or conservative white people have the same opportunity to protest like other groups when they don't like something. Whether or not you get protected like the other groups is an entirely different matter.

As a former scenarios trainer, you’re right to question this method. My best guess is that the training scenario as described is missing some details.

It’s very easy (lazy) to create no win or nearly impossible and unrealistic scenarios. These create psychological training scars.

Of course, it’s a very real possibility that a cop will walk into a no-win scenario, but it doesn’t help them be a better officer to expose them to that.

Officers who face no-win scenarios in real life and survive have a lot of psychological trauma to process and some never recover to be back at work. Luckily, those situations are rare enough.

Training scenarios have mostly improved past that from the early years, but there are still some agencies who unintentionally create these training scars .

You must be prepared for all contingencies. Especially the really dangerous ones.
