You don't see many musicians on stage without a full head of hair. All four Beatles never lost a hair. Ditto for the Stones. Same for Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Michael, Prince and a slew of others.

They all can't be this blessed, can they? Who were the ones wearing Astroturf?

As much as I loved Carl Perkins, the toupees were a little over the top.

Elton John obviously and apparently Chris Martin of Coldplay but that could be a transplant. I think it is much more prevalent in the acting category. There is a long list of bald musicians, Sinead O'Connor being at the top of the list.

Dwight Yoakam’s hat could count as a hairpiece.

I just assume most of them get hair transplants. I'm sure actors and other entertainers do the same.

This is Rivers Cuomo in the early 00's.

I saw some poor sap at the airport one time who was completely bald, but had these uniformly spaced, off-colored brown dots all over his head like dots on a domino. I assumed it was hair plugs gone bad or some sort of treatment to try to prevent going bald.

He looked like the tall elf on Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, except bald with brown dots.

I heard Joe Buck on the Smartless podcast talking about his. He's had 6 (maybe more) major hair restoration surgeries. His take on it was "it's a job requirement, what am I going to do?"

Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow, Deep Purple, and Yngwie Malmsteen) has had Alopecia totalis since he was a toddler. Must have been hell, but he had a great wig.

He had invitations from both Bad Company and Foreigner to join them, but luckily did Deep Purple's 'Slaves and Masters' instead...one of my favorite albums. Deep Purple Mk2 with Gillian is the gold standard, but I really like JLT in both DP and Rainbow! (and Yngwie!)

As could Kenny Chesney's.

Molly Tuttle is completely bald (alopecia totallis or however the person above me spelled it) and wears wigs. There's a couple of videos on YouTube where she gets super hot because of the stage lighting and just pulls off the wig and goes bald.
