Companies using AI for customer support

Looks like companies are phasing out unhelpful customer support Indians (dot not feather) and replacing them with equally unhelpful AI agents.
My Ring doorbell camera has been going in and out, and they sent me out a replacement last month. With the holidays and general life, I wasn't able to install the new doorbell until yesterday.
They asked that I return the defective camera to them, but the UPS label they sent is expired, and I've spent the past 30 minutes arguing with an AI agent to get a flesh and blood human to help me since the AI can't do shite other than point me towards some articles that have nothing to do with my issue.
AI: I understand you received a replacement Ring doorbell in December and now need to return your original device, but the UPS return label has expired. For warranty replacement returns in the United States, a return shipping label is typically attached to the email you received when the replacement was processed. Since your label has expired, you'll need to contact Customer Support directly to request a new return shipping label, as I'm not able to generate or email shipping labels. They'll be able to provide you with a current label so you can complete the return of your original device.
Me: Can you put me in touch with a person who can help me?

Open your Ring app and tap the menu (?)
Scroll down to Help
Tap Contact Support
Tap the Contact Support button

This will connect you directly with a support representative who can issue a new return shipping label for your original doorbell
The problem is, going through these steps just brings me back to the AI chat that can't help me.
I spent another 10 minutes trying to get the AI to give me the phone number to Customer Support.
I call Customer Support and another AI answers.
I think I'd rather the Indians.

An AI assistant who sends you in a communication loop forever or an Indian (dot) in New Delhi, India who you cannot understand and is reading off a script? Sounds like mental torture.

Holy shite. I finally got a real person on the phone, and this Indian lady can barely speak English.

Went through this today. I need a repair on a Sharp Drawer Microwave. I call multiple service companies in the GNO area - all human interaction, but nobody works on Sharp microwaves.
I call Sharp US. I play the AI game, and they give me two numbers to call. Neither of them work on microwaves.
Such a terrible product to offer customers....shitty customer support

They just penalize you for wanting to do a live chat option versus talking on the phone. You can bypass the recording options on a phone call 99% of the time and talk to someone live.
