Just read a study that 25% of college students in remedial classes had a 4.0 GPA in high school.

Grade inflation in high school has had a negative impact and I believe it has increased delusion amongst college students, especially females. These kids think that they are the top of the class when they are average. They do not react well once they figure it out and turn to things like feminism, that affect the birth rate.

Like who is it uncomfortable for?

Ones in the line of work, ones outside your line of work who have the wrong opinion of it or ones who want to get into your line of work?

Btw, are you an educator?

I don't see how anyone can be in remedial classes at all if you just apply yourself.

This would have been unthinkable just 25 years ago

The grade inflation problem started with the 'High Self Esteem' movement that hit education in the 1980s. I was finished with education by then but it wouldn't have worked on me. I could tell who was stupid and who was smart by 2nd grade.

Depends on what part of government work you're talking about.

Our county school system touts one of the highest graduation rates in the state, yet its test scores are in the bottom 25%. Go figure. It’s not uncommon for our honor grads to get into academic trouble their freshmen year of college from not being prepared. There are pros and cons of living in east bum, the public schools are a con.

The average person in incapable of reading and answering a 4473 properly the 1st few times they purchase a firearm.

Or… my pet peeve

The organizations responsible for entering information into NICs are not penalized if they fail to do so in a timely manner but those FFLs that use NICs are on strict guidelines

Most people think nurses and doctors are the heroes

Incorrect, it's us, the lawyers, who are the hometown heroes

you're welcome

It used to be a lot different. I graduated high school in the 1980's. Not sure what my GPA was but wasn't high enough to be an honor grad. Then I graduated from college with a 3.0 and never really struggled with anything besides one statistics class.

Unplanned events will be on the rise given hiring practices the last 10 years.
The schools aren’t generating qualified talent and the hiring focus in manufacturing and engineering has been on demographics as opposed to best qualified.

Already seeing it in the last 5 years.

Health insurance: If you have employer-based coverage, your employer determines what’s covered and not covered. They also decide what your copays, premiums, deductibles, and coinsurance are. Your employer also chooses what needs to be reviewed under prior authorization.

If you have Medicaid or Medicare, then the state or Federal government makes those decisions.

I own a pest control company. The regulations we have to abide by do next to nothing to keep customers "safer". It's not like we want to kill your pets.

I know to most in here that is not surprising at all, but for society at large, they legit believe if you aren't licensed by the state, and go through the test taking, then somehow, you want to poison their entire family.

Oil and Gas Pipeline Industry

a lot of the systems we count on the most were built in the 1960s and 1970s

there are System owner operators that own assets and dont have accurate maps of their systems. They literally dont know where some of the lines run

there are a lot of systems that were built in remote areas decades ago that have towns/neighborhoods built on top of them now

when the Shale Gas boom of 2005-2016 was really rolling we were building natural gas pipeline systems with the absolute cheapest crap chinese steel we could get that met "safety standards"

there are large crude oil and natural gas pipelines that were built for sweet production that are now very sour and are being eaten from the inside out by hydrogen sulfide gas and iron sulfide debris

Happy Monday Everybody!
