Well he did say he was a Democratic-Socialist and would govern as a Democratic-Socialist.
Part of that is spouting bullshite about free stuff for your voters and never actually doing it. Another part of it is finding pork barrel spending that could technically do some of what you campaigned on but funneling that into your own pocket.
