NY POST
quote:
President Donald Trump on Thursday pardoned five former professional football players — one posthumously — for various crimes ranging from perjury to drug trafficking. The pardons were announced by White House pardon czar Alice Marie Johnson. Ex-NFL players Joe Klecko, Nate Newton, Jamal Lewis, Travis Henry and the late Billy Cannon were granted the clemency.

Upvote for the Tigers, but does this mean we all get to print $6 million in fake $100 bills and hide them in ice chests now?
I’m a massive LSU and Trump fan but what good does pardoning him for his crime after he’s dead do, other than lesson the significance of him being the ringleader of one of the nation’s largest counterfeit schemes at the time? He served his time in prison and was forgiven by fans a long time ago. What am I missing?

Doesn’t bother but I never understood pardoning someone who is dead.

Billy after being pardoned:

Saw that this morning. Articles, however, are not fully explaining what that means for the players.

I don’t like it. There should be one tier of justice in a society.

Ok great. But what difference does this make for someone who is deceased? Seems like a waste of time and attention. He needs to pardon John Kiriakou.

You can be a Trump supporter but not agree with everything he does. Cannon was guilty, I see nothing he did to earn a pardon.

It’s completely possible to be a Trump and LSU fan while simultaneously acknowledging that this is retarded.
I love Trump and support most of what he’s trying to accomplish, but he’s a gigantic douchbag retard sometimes

What exactly did Billy do ? My grandpa always told me that he was making counterfeit money but I never bothered looking it up

Hate the man who makes your country relevant again and follows the Constitution. People are idiots!

BIlly did his time and turned his life around. Why does receiving a pardon bother you and anyone else. It’s not like he was pardoned while in jail or before he went to jail. He served his time.

I got a letter from the White House Tuesday that granted me a pardon . It was addressed to “Occupant”.

Exactly. The pardon doesn’t do anything. The better story is that Cannon did his time and came out the other side and rejoined straight society. The pardon doesn’t bother me, but it doesn’t further any social policy. The only policy furthered by the pardon is that “famous people get pardons”, which, as a policy, does not appeal to me.
