As expected. I wonder if cooper Williams will get the 4th start or if he will be used this weekend.

Really excited to see Schmidt. Hopefully he has command and can make a big jump this year.

Fall scrimmages weren't very promising in the command aspect.
Think he had 6 walks in ~8 innings.
Then again, we can't read too much into intersquad scrimmages

*To be fair, after 3 walks in an inning, he settled down and dominated for the rest of that appearance

Hard to tell. I think Cooper Williams, Noot, Paz, and Ricken also have starter aspirations. Then you have Cowan and Guidry, who I believe are best suited to the pen, that may get starter looks.

Heard Jay being interviewed yesterday and said he had forced Schmidt into an outing recently and took away his “safety blanket” whatever that meant. They were tinkering with some of his pitch mix, for sure. And it lead to some weird results Jay said

Schmidt also struck out like 9 batters in a row last weekend after walking the first 3 in the first inning and didn’t give up a run.
