I have a friend that was an EP PAT on Japan. He got married, had 3 kids and the divorced.
He lost a multi-million dollar business and was put on thr street.
She was Japanese and he was not. She won and was gonna win no matter what. He was not allowed to see his kids. They hooked up on social media like 10 years after that.

Japan has a 1.15 fertility rate right now. (US is at 1.6 which is not good either but we are at least ahead by half a kid) If they don't fix that, they will be a complete mess in 50 years.

I wouldn't say closer but I would say that they respected us after we defeated them in battle. I think that's built into their racial makeup.
Japan is a marked contrast to Germany. Japan bent to US policy postwar but never broke. They never stopped being proud of being Japanese. Germany on the other hand became a shell of itself. Where Japan was resilient, we completely broke the German spirit and then pushed them to hate themselves and their people and history. Japan never apologized for war crimes in their history books, and we said nothing. And yet we've made Germans prostrate themselves in every facet of their modern existence for what they did. Japan attacked us but they were always of secondary importance. They were just an excuse FDR needed to crush Germany. Germany was always who our liberal establishment hated to the core. They never really gave a shite about Japan.
