The revenue report that came out last month shows the MBB team in the black despite how crappy it is.
The women’s team lost $7m despite success.
Translation: it doesn’t matter from a revenue standpoint if the team is successful they still turn a profit from SEC revenue.
Let McMahon go at his contract expiration.

Not even KENT LOWE can take another year of this shite, let alone 3. It’s McOver.

This is an ignorant take. We are missing out on millions in new potential revenue with a competent coach. In fact, if we keep him, we will bring in even less revenue than what we are now.

Dumb
Why?
Sick of paying coaches millions to sit on their arse. Make him at least work for it.
WBB loses $7m a year while MBB is profitable despite itself.
The record doesn’t matter

Basketball is too WOKE so the fans must suffer

Just think of the profit we would make if Men's basketball was successful?
I still don't understand how Women's basketball loses that much money. They don't sell out all their games, but most of the time, the arena is 3/4 full.
Is it Mulkey's salary? Does the SEC give that much more to Men's Basketball compared to Women's?
Again, unless the tickets are 1 dollar each, I just don't get why they lose so much money and the Men's team with 2,000 fans make money?

All about the TV contract. The same reason baseball doesn't make as much money as men's basketball.

Only because of a tv contracts. There is missing potential profit because the team sucks arse. So yes, missing potential profit is essentially losing money.

As a fan, why would I care how much $ the program is making if they are fricking terrible? Why would this matter to you? Am I supposed to light up a cigar after every basketball game that we get boatraced in our home gym because LSU made a buck? Crayon-eater take.

The funny thing will be when we hire another straight edge coach that's not a circus clown and the fan support still sucks and people will want him fired too because of "lack of interest" in the program.
We've had several good technical basketball coaches that didn't succeed here because of the fickleness of LSU MBB fans, or the lack of their existence.

Rob Peter to pay Paul. Always financially sound reasoning

I'm going to verbally support this. Downvoters be damned, the fact is EVERY FRICKEN ONE of those downvotes would upvote an LSU FB, Baseball, WBB, or Gymnastics championship, or winning a 5-star in any one of those sports.
It sucks, but letting MBB die on the vine here vs. buying out cMM is 100% the play here. Heck, if you're that intent on hanging another banner in the PMAC, you should take all of the money you might conceivably spend on buying him out and give it to cKM to recruit the next WBB championship- because that's the championship team in their trophy-winning window.

that's because of our TV deal, not because the program is doing well financially. In the last fiscal year they only turned a profit of $2 million. Good SEC programs are turning profits closer to $10+ million annually in mens basketball
