We seem to oversimplify the problem on here. LSU's bigger problem is not who is the coach. It is how much NIL cash do we pony up. Top coaches are not coming here if there is no upfront program support. Verge has got to be building a warchest right now.
You dont really have to worry too much about fan support because winning brings in fans. I just dont know how much we have stretched the margins on football and other sports this year.

Since Rousse is so tight with Wade, we can put him in charge of getting him here. I’m sure Verge would be fine with that.

This isn’t the 1980s. The ACC doesn’t have the money to compete long-term with the SEC in any sport Wade knows that I’m not saying he’s coming back to LSU but it’s crazy it sounds the LSU job is a better job because it’s in the SEC than North Carolina state is. Coaches know where the money is

UNC and Duke basketball absolutely do but for the most part this is correct. What's wrong is thinking LSU is interested in spending like a regular SEC school in basketball. Slive got the SEC schools to take a step forward in basketball in the 2010s and LSU missed the memo.

I disagree. We were right there with everyone else under Wade. We have since dropped off for obvious reasons while many other schools have made great hires in that time frame.

I came here to say the same thing. And apparently one of the big boosters who clashed with Scott Woodward will pony up to help bring Will Wade back. I'm not saying that's what will happen, but there are basketball-centric boosters not named Dale Brown or Collis Temple who are frustrated/embarrassed by the current state of the program.

WW would DEFINITELY leave NCST for LSU at the end of this year. No question. I suspect he really wants to return. Our Chancellor would love to have him. But there are obstacles including needing about 12-14m in roster money, CMM and staff buyout, WW and staff contracts and the useless admin holdovers we see with every coaching change in ever sport. This will be a 60m or so lift IMO. VS keep CMM on, bump roster $ (despite doing so last year to a level that is clearly not enough) and see what happens. I think the latter will happen (minus the roster bump). VA's latest comments support my opinion. But this is some really bad hoops by really average players in front of no fans.

Ausberry is just the public "Figurehead" that will take the credit. He was just a spur of the moment rushed "Panic" hire to get through the BK, Woodward and Landry mess. (So that Lane Kiffin could be hired)
OP is another Ranter that has spelling difficulties. Nick ROUSE was our Tiger Band director from 76-79. Wade ROUSSE is the current LSU President. (Just me, but I don't take anybody seriously on here that can't even spell all their words correctly in a few brief sentences.
