Sam Darnold California Tax Bill

Darnold lost money playing in the Superbowl with CA's stupid greedy tax structure.
Summary:
He owes almost $80k even though the NFL pay to players in the Superbowl is $178k.
Being in the state for 7days and triggering the "Jock Tax" they get to tax that percentage of days he was in CA. So the % of days he was in CA they tax his $30 mill contract at 13.5%.

That itself is criminal. He has to pay California state taxes because he played a game there? And they don’t just tax his fan check? They tax his entire salary?
Is that what I’m reading??

And next year's SB is in California again.
NFLPA should be all over this and demanding that the NFL host media days and SB practices in Vegas and then fly the players to Los Angeles on Sunday morning so they only get taxed in CA for one day.

Why don't they just play it in Puerto Rico? That's who they want to appeal to. Problem solved!

Love my State.
I swear everytime I read that something bad or stupid is going on in the States I get to read..."but not in Florida".

Don't hold major sporting events in Commiefornia anymore.

Now combine that with the billions upon billions of tax dollars wasted through fraud like the California homeless situation and the rail service.
BILLIONS wasted and he helped give his money over to fraud.

Does this only apply to Darnold for some reason? Its strange that this keeps getting reposted across media for days now, but the only person ever referenced is Darnold

Hard for me to feel sorry for NFL players
They sold out to get the money

QB tends to be the highest paid player on the team, hence using him.
Drake Maye doesn’t make nearly as much because he is on a rookie deal.

Darnold probably has the highest annual salary of all the players in the Super Bowl. That's why they reference Darnold. A player making a league minimum salary made money playing in the Super Bowl.

The highest paid position on average in the NFL is the left offensive tackle, not the QB.
Anyone know offhand who is the Seahawks left OT?

Seems like it a form of highway robbery.
