Meaningless baseball rant

I hate playing all day games early in the season. I understand why Jay schedules it that way, but it sucks. First night game isn’t until 2/24. Only 2 the entire month of February. That’s all, rant over

Good point. Might be that many of the early season games are a pre-season of sorts for us to get ready for league games.

I hate that the opener is at 2:00pm. I wanted to take my son to the opener but I'm not taking off of work nor am I taking him out of school to go. We've given thousands of dollars and lots of PTO in the past for Omaha runs but I draw the line at taking my kid out of school for it.

I'm pretty sure it has to do with the temperature.

It’s because of the weather, Jay doesn’t want them to risk playing in 30 degree temps. I understand the reasoning, it just sucks not really being able to watch games early in the season.

It’s the same reason why most of our early season football games are played at night.

I kinda feel the opposite. I’ve been trying to take him as a new tradition. Something to look forward to… we plan to be there on Friday with little sister too. Works out well this year because their Friday is pretty meaningless with school parking lot Mardi Gras parade half day.
But I’m also likely in the minority of loving Thursday night games during SEC play. I try to drive in and catch them on my work off weeks. Friday nights are still best, but Thursdays happen to work well for me.

I wouldn't want them every week, but I also enjoy a Thursday through Saturday series from time to time.

Agree. It’s a good change up getting to watch games on a Thursday night time to time.
And it just so happens it works out well for me (albeit selfishly) that I can get out there easier on home game Thursday nights.

2/24 is a mere 10 days after the first game.... calm down lol

Thursday night games are awesome, just not when LSU plays in them. It's the only non-LSU game I'm able to watch every week

Way to miss out on some core memories your kid will remember forever so he can have a regular day of school

I like the day games as much as the night games. I like the super late night games more than both of them. I really like the midweek games too. I probably just love LSU baseball and will gladly take it however I can get it.

I don’t mind the occasional Thursday series start, but then my Sundays feel empty.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a Friday night game this week....I can see Saturday's game being moved. Even though it is still a few days out, the weather guys are pretty confident there will be rain Saturday

Heaven forbid that Jay looks out for the best interest of our pitching staff and this inconveniences some of our fans.

I’m calm. I just wish that we didn’t have to wait until the 9th game of the season to get a night game. It’s 4 weekday games in the first week of the season that many people won’t really be able to watch and that sucks. That’s all I’m saying.

Just wait til June when Jay postpones regional games because it’s raining in Shreveport.

I would almost take a delay during Super Regionals...........that 2PM start of game 1 last year was brutal in that heat.
