For quite a while, SNL skits have been hit or miss (mostly miss). I don't even watch the show live anymore...I just pull up skits online and check them out. The main thing many of them have in recent years is pandering. That's why I was actually surprised to see something that actually made me laugh out loud. It wasn't Martin Short Synchronized Swimming funny...but IMHO it was so much better than most of the stuff they have been putting out there lately.

The luge does look scary af. I laughed

Also I do the same. I never watch on Saturday nights but I'll watch the YouTube shorts.

If you think that was funny, then you must piss your pants when Kate McKinnon is in the "Alien Abduction" skits or the "Black Jeopardy" ones are viewed.

The Luge one was mildly amusing for me.

That one was just ok. This one, from the same episode, was better:

I did like the Alien Abduction skit that Kate did 11 years ago. The first one was the funniest. I thought they dropped off after that.

I also liked the Black Jeopardy skits that aired between 6 and 13 years ago (didn't really like the one they did for the 50th nearly as much as the others).

Again..."in recent years" funny/clever skits have become less and less frequent. I did like Nate Bargatze's Washington's Dream skit 3 or so years back, along with "Star Wars Undercover Boss". Personally, I think the mid-to late 80s were unrivaled in SNL content.

SNL is funniest when they make fun of everyone ..

When they decide to go after the right in an effort to get live audience applause, it's usually pretty unfunny

When Kenan Thompson is your most talented person on the roster, you've got problems....

I only see some of the skits on u-tube since I really haven't watched the show much after most of the original cast left the show---------yeah, I'm that old and was 23 when the first show aired.

That wasn't remotely funny. SNL is not remotely funny. It is basically The Simpsons; someone is watching it so why stop? Much funnier skit:

Black Jeopardy"
—some of those, like with Tom Hanks and T’Challa, are among the funniest things SNL ever did.

I guess my sense of humor is off. It could've been funny if actual funny people were involved

They've ripped a lot of ITYSL off over the past couple of years, this one might be the clearest I've seen

I watch on Youtube as well. I was 6 when the first show aired.

We watch the new SNLs on Sunday on Peacock (because WVLA is notorious for chopping off bits of the show during the commercial breaks).

It's almost never funny through and through, but there are usually bits that make watching worthwhile (as always, it depends on the host).

People that think that there were seasons where the show was wall to wall funny, please watch the SNL Vault on Pluto and Roku. They stream clips based on themes, not for entertainment value. You get to see the best casts in the worst skits imaginable. Makes you wish that the SNL Vault was a "best of" channel.

Ok... this is making me do it. I'm starting a new thread for favorite SNL skits.

Was that supposed to be funny? Because it wasn't.
