It’s not a pretty picture for someone that was once called best AD in America.
The list of disasters under him is very long. His few positives are tainted as either it was unwise spending or not his choice

The hires at Aggy should have been red flags instead of people believing he did it because he was coming here.

That's quite a stretch.
I thought hiring BK was a big time hire at the time. It obviously didn't work out, but its hard to fault Woodward for that. Just like I wouldn't fault Verge if the Kiffin hire somehow didn't work out.
I blame Woodward for the Will Wade mess, for not sticking with him. We don't know all the details of why he did it though.
Did he end up being a good AD? Hell no. But worst AD in NCAA history?? Come on.
How quickly we forget Joe Alleva.

Probably the same reason BK hasn't. When you have plenty of money you don't need to be in a rush to work. You can wait for the perfect opportunity, or just not work again.

I wouldn't say the worst AD in America. He did bring in Mulkey and Johnson. I think he got lazy. How could he not know that Kelly was putting forth any effort as a coach and take steps to correct behavior? That was truly his biggest failure and should have definitely cost him his job. It was his job to supervise Kelly, and he failed. H took a shot at McMahon and missed. I'm sure this is his last year, and it was gonna be a total rebuild anyway, so one year wouldn't have made a difference.

Well if the rumors about him meddling and forcing BK to retain Brad Davis are true, it IS easy to fault Woodward for the BK era going sideways.

BK came to LSU with serious skins on the wall. About as good as you can get from any realistic candidate. Same for Kiffin.
If you go the risky route, with someone who hasn't accomplish much (the coordinator route, Billy Napier route) because you feel they will take a big step and win big here, and it goes terribly, then the AD bares the brunt of the blame. Think McMahon in basketball.
