Basset Hounds can be funny as hell..
A friend of mine had one and that dog used to like to listen to himself piss. There was this display my friend's wife had/has in the backyard. Its made out of tin or something, but the dog would go straight to it and piss on it and it would have low "tink" noise to it. It was just funny because he just looked so goofy it was like the most enjoyable thing in life was pissing on that yard display.

I raised a couple generations of them at the same time I had a pack of rabbit beagles. I'd run them with the beagles but they were wired completely different from beagles in how they hunted.
They were lazy obviously. And they had an amazing nose and they were surprisingly smart about rabbit psychology. They would use the beagles who were dependable on a trail to keep on it and not outrun it, and they would run out where they figured the rabbit was going to be to try to beat you to it with their six inch stride. You were competing with the Bassett for the damn rabbit.

They have weenier dog races at Oktoberfest here in Cullman, AL. Nothing better than drinking some beers and listening to the announcer make every weenier joke imaginable and watching the weenier dogs not cooperate.
