I have a coworker whose New Year’s resolution was to have a more defined jaw line. So for the last month he’s been chewing on “fitness” gum 8 hours a day for at least 5 days a week. I haven’t noticed a difference, but he said he can tell, and he’s already progressed to a gum with a higher resistance.

How many on here chew on “fitness” gum? What level of resistance are you on? And have you noticed a difference in your jaw line?

Never heard of a Fitness gum but I did see some bullshite ad on Facebook for some $50 rubber device you put in your mouth and chew on all day. It’s supposed to give you a “Brad Pitt” jawline.

Sounds like they have figured out a solution to having a chiseled jawline without having to spend $50,000 on plastic surgery.

Just out of curiosity… what do you call repeatedly using your muscles to move against resistance?

I’m pretty sure he would already have to have a strong jawline to improve on. You can’t create the bone structure by chewing.

Typical. Fats of the OT view chewing/eating as exercise

I thought this was going to be about the old joke re: using “fitness” in a sentence.

Tightening his jaw line won’t cure his low t insecurities he exudes to every split-tail within earshot.

He’s going to have issues with his teeth / jaw.

That’s why I said let me know how the TMJ goes. It will cause more problems than what he’s trying to get out of it. Once you aggravate those jaw joints and muscle muscles it is a bitch to get them back.
