I’m glad the GOP is tossing the pretense of states rights and limited federal government out the window.

For national offices they are. And he should regulate those.

Now, out of convenience states combine all other elections to make it simpler but if they don’t want to do voter ID for statewide elections they can have a different election day.

Fed elections should be mandated by Fed Gov. Those offices are making federal decisions and need to be honest.

Its that simple. Decades ago we never had cheating like now so it wasn’t a big deal to do them together. That ship has sailed and we need federal offices mandated to have Voter ID which he can do. Best if congress gets off their arse too.

You are an obvious proponent of the SCOTUS finding in TX v PA, which in my opinion may well have been the worst SCOTUS ruling since Dred Scott. It's fair to say we disagree.

Well he tried fricking with an election before so we know he won’t have any qualms about trying again.

The board, in general, is so scared to say what they believe (constitutionally) because they know Trump’s gonna come behind them and make them change their tune.

Cue the: Trump isn't a states rights guy. He's the REAL conservative, though and that's the actual conservative position

That's why there has been a wholesale rejection of discussing politics in terms of policies and everything has to reference the out group (DEMs)

Except not in any way, shape or form. But other than that, sure.

Trump: I think we need more gun laws. Nobody needs a 15 round magazine, and if you think about it, nobody really needs more than 2 guns, one long gun and one handgun.

Half the board: Hmm, apparently the 2nd Amendment doesn't mean what I thought it meant. Glad Trump is there to straighten us all out.

But you do have the flip side to that...

All the dems: WE NEED MORE GUNS. DOESN'T TRUMP EVEN 2nd AMENDMENT? PAID PROTESTORS, ENGAGE!

I mean, yeah, the states are kind of a franchise operation. If you can't follow the rules of the Franchiser, the Franchiser has the obligation to protect customers and the other franchise holders from the bad actions of other franchise holders. In Trump's business mind, that makes sense.

The amount of delusion and projection here is astounding.
