Tony Bennett may get back into coaching one day, but not before NIL is sorted. He despised it, and NIL and the portal make it really hard for his system to work.

Tony Bennetts style is awful and really not compatible with SEC basketball in 2026. LSU with a new arena on the way needs a showman who can engage the fanbase and put an exciting and winning product on the floor. A basketball Lane Kiffin if you will, we won’t get someone with proven skins on the wall like that, but someone who wants to hustle and be present on social media and in public.
Also not many kids want to play in a defensive oriented system like that.

Hard to recruit kids playing boring ball. The type of players at UVA and LSU are not even close to similar.

Tony Skinn is the next guy. He has moved around, spent 4 seasons in Ruston, young, gets the environment.
We are not in a position to overpay some P4 coach who is good. We have to go mid major. This is the guy we should zero in on. In about 6 weeks he will be a household name
