People We Meet On Vacation- Netflix

We're still stuck due to no power, so we've been watching stuff from the wife's office and washing clothes.
This was a great little rom-com. Kind of in the Definitely Maybe vibe if you like that. Has the laughs, the feels, and you may end up getting some afterwards.

It's based on Emily Henry's novel of the same name. My wife convinced me to read the book and I liked it. I also enjoyed the movie. They had to cut out the number of flashbacks, but they kept the best ones in, namely NOLA. The dance scene to Paula Abdul's Forever Your Girl was fantastic. The actors had great chemistry and, even though they don't physically resemble the way Alex and Poppy are written in the book, they do them justice. Having the final scene be a recreation of the book's iconic cover was genius. Although some of the movie is set in Ohio, they filmed in NOLA and you can tell.

It was a decent rom-com. My wife has read the book and loved it.

Wife made me watch it. It was pretty good. I chuckled a few times in it. The 2 main actors definitely had that sexual tension going on.

I agree. Saw it on Netflix and looked funny enough and offered it up to my wife to win some brownie points.
We both enjoyed it.

The big climactic scene where the girl goes chasing after the dude that supposedly takes place in “Ohio” is the most New Orleans looking Ohio I’ve ever seen

it was a rare enjoyable straight to streaming movie. probably my favorite rom com since "anyone but you."
leads were both good.
i will say that the girl the main dude went swimming with was stunning. I can't find a picture to do her justice, but I'd have risked it all for her.
may not be popular on this board, but I know Saint Alfonzo will jump in here with me.

Thought you were talking about the John Cena movie. That one was funny

Like other, I had to watch with the wife, but I was surprised on how good it was. Lead actors had great chemistry, and I was entertained. That's all I ask for a movie.

You used to touch yourself to "Quest for Fire" didn't you?

I'll just echo what everyone else says. Pretty danged good rom-com. Of course, I'm that dude that always refuses to watch a rom-com and barters like crazy with my wife to not have to watch whatever rom-com has just come out... only to almost always enjoy the movie when I actually watch it.
For whatever reason, it's the last genre I'll choose willingly, but then also probably one of the most mindlessly enjoyable. Maybe it's because my expectations are always so low.

Would it be appropriate to watch with my 13 year old daughter? I am constantly struggling to find movies we can watch together...

It’s PG13
They show smoking a joint & nudity is only bare arse
I think it would be fine, I don’t think there’s anything overly sexual
