I’m looking at the GFS. Am I reading this right? Snow on the Saturday before Mardi Gras?

I know it’s too far out to tell, but can we say it’s probably going to be ball-freezing cold?

The Senior Bowl in Mobile has this cold & windy shite today to contend with.

Let’s see how many lads just pass on participating today.

Still two weeks away. Hard to tell but it shouldn't be as bad as this weekend.

Yeah unless they have a legit verified injury reason I doubt you will see that. They go to this to boost their draft stock. Not playing in the game would not look good to NFL teams.

Not a weather baw. But . . .

Looks like to me that very cold (30s-40s) is probable no matter how the pattern sets up.

Way too early to tell on snow.

Real NOLA baws should be cheering for the cold. You’ll have a much better Mardi Gras. Less riff raff, less filthy casuals, less crowds, less lines

I seem to remember a Mardi Gras or two where the weather was in the upper 30s or low 40s back in the 70s and maybe early 80s. No snow, doe.

84 or 85 IIRC. Butt cold with howling wind.

We holed up in a bar that was like a dream. Cheap beer, awesome jukebox. Never could find it again!

2014 - Cold Rain Highs stayed around 35-40 degrees this one was in March

2015 - Another cold year, temps in the 30’s no rain, but the threat was treated as real so some parades moved dates to Sunday before like Terrebonne, it ended up as a nice day.

You are correct. It was blistering cold a few years back in the day.

The long range forecast for Baton Rouge shows it’s going to be hot as hell on July 4th…

How are we supposed to know the weather 2 weeks out if we aren’t sure if we’ll have an early spring or 6 more weeks on winter

That official forecast comes out on Tuesday.

Which one you believe, the groundhog or the nutria. I think every region has their version of the groundhog.

AccuWeather is predicting high temperatures in the low 70s for the Saturday before Mardi Gras, The Weather Cannel is predicting 60s.

Can’t find it now, but I think there’s a picture of lil me sitting in a chairbox nailed to the top of a ladder for Mardi Gras in the early 60s. I had a thick coat on.

My kids are learning, and finally retaining, about the groundhog. Therefore, I am forced to believe in the groundhog, for now
