Ron Johnson is my favorite senator. Not sure if I can remember a time Ive disagreed with one of his votes so hope we get his rationale

"Ron Johnson is my favorite senator"
Ron Johnson is my senator. My wife grew up 3 doors down from him and babysat his kids.
Ron Johnson is a solid guy.
I don't know the details here but sometimes Ron Johnson goes off the reservation over some "principled" stance. Frustrating but it is who he is.
I am not aware of a time Ron Johnson has done this in a way that has actually hurt the larger cause (ie. you "needed" his vote and it wasn't there).

There had to be some shenanigans in it for both of them to vote no.

seven GOP lawmakers –
Sens. Ted Budd, R-N.C.,
Ron Johnson, R-Wis.,
Mike Lee, R- Utah,
Ashley Moody, R-Fla.,
Rand Paul, R-Ky.,
Rick Scott, R-Fla., and
Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala.
i question what Thune had them voting on. i can see Murkowski & Collins voting with dems, but they voted with Thune.....

I would think obviously the bill wasn’t solely on DHS funding. Put a single subject bill out there with no riders.

The DHS funding that the Dems are tearing their clothes over is a drop in the bucket compared to separate funding that OBBB provides in 2026. Like 20%, tops.

Because some lobbyists told them to and they're both absolute and total slaves to it. They have no shame and they serve money before they serve their constituency.

So you just described all 437 members of the House and 100 members of the Senate.

Those are all good senators so I trust our Ron

I'm thinking the same Mike Lee voted no as well

(Hint: there are none)

I imagine this is the same bill Massie just voted against in the House. It has a large increase in CISA funding. They will probably tell us the reason soon.
