Let's just take all of MBB money and shift to CJJ the goat.

Or leave the money as it is and hire a competent coach.

We can be good at everything. I don’t understand people’s commitment to never wanting a good basketball program.

Jay has like the #1 class locked in the next three years. It’ll be okay.

Those people are called losers.

Having a good basketball team is exciting and can be a very nice moneymaker (hell, we have been making money even with the pathetic state of our basketball program). The PMAC used to have one of the best atmospheres in college basketball. It was a long time ago, but it existed and it could exist again. If you win, they will come. We just need an exciting product that wins consistently.

I don’t get it either. Basketball is so much fun when LSU is good. Those last few years with Wade were electric, I couldn’t imagine missing a single game because it was fun to watch LSU be actually good at basketball consistently which we haven’t had in a long time before or since Wade.

This isn’t some hire The General post either, just saying we can and should be good at basketball. We need to make a good hire and actually care about the program for once.

I'm not certain that's true. Off hand the only program that I can think of that has successfully funded WBB without sacrificing MBB, Football, or baseball is Texas. And they obviously have more money than us. We really need to cut WBB.

That’s the problem. Men’s basketball makes money regardless of whether the team is good or bad. Sure, concessions may be down when we’re bad, but LSU fans don’t give up their basketball season tickets and we still share in the tv and tournament money from the conference.

Except for the fact that we are solely in second place (albeit very far) behind Kentucky in all time conference titles and have made the final 4 more times than 85% of the conference

We already know LSU has a top 25 NIL in men’s basketball now. If we get the new arena across the finish line we don’t have to do much else. McMahon makes a million more than Wade this year

1 of 2 sports on campus that actually turns a profit. LSU basketball could go winless for the next 5 seasons and still make money.

WBB or baseball could go undefeated and would still lose money.

Yeah let’s cut the sport that actually makes the university money.

It’s wild to me how I don’t even think about LSU basketball anymore.

When I was a kid, basketball was the only LSU sport I paid much attention to. Of course those were the Chris Jackson, Shaquille O’Neal days. But I rarely missed a game or radio call even during Brady’s tenure.

Cause no one is an everything school you retard. We’ve hung a women’s basketball natty banner and gymnastics natty banner before we’ve hung a men’s basketball one. Not to mention baseball has 8 nattys.
