It’s crazy that in a few short years, everyone went from going Pro in 3 years to suing..

the NCAA for a 6th or 7th year of eligibility because of NIL.

I mean what authority does the NCAA even have to limit eligibility? They are getting slaughtered in the courts.

I know a lot of LSU fans were mad they canned Wade, citing how weak the NCAA is. After what we know now, what in the world would the NCAA have done if LSU said screw you were keeping him?

great question, i guess we'll never know

It's one extreme or the other, lol.
Cant we have something in the middle?

Something like 5 years to play 4, sitting out a year if you transfer within the same division, while being paid for doing promotional work on the side? Signing autographs, being in a commercial for a local business, or maybe a national brand like the Dr. Pepper Fansville commercials. Yeah, that would be great.

Count this guy as one who was vocal (keybord typing) about keeping Will Wade. Worst they could have done was a 1 year postseason ban. Welp, as predicted, we are curretnly on a 4 year postseason ban due to Scott Woodward''s awful hiring process.

They have all the authority. Schools plaything the NCAA… they can rule how they want.
Pretty simple

And it was incredibly obvious at the time too.

I think they were threatening to dig into the football program and reveal some allegedly pretty bad allegations and were using Wade as leverage/sacrficial lamb

That’s Moscona carrying water for Woodward to justify to the public the firing of Wade.

I see a merchandising opportunity for reclaimed victories and championships.
Print the shirts! Again!

They were given authority by their member schools. Thats what the NCAA is. The fact that their member's continue to try to fight them at every turn is stupid. It'd be like an NFL franchise suing the NFL.
If you want to play for a member school, you have to follow the membership rules.

Maybe.
But what isn’t crazy is people doing what’s best for their own interests.
