Linking a thread from this time last year now that the season has ended. A lot of people criticized his comments about the locker room being cliques and players selling tickets for higher prices.

Just goes to show how the team reflected that BK spirit and was so disjointed despite the talent on the field.

It also highlights on what Kiffin spoke about the other day how they need to un-recruit players and focus on being teammates now at LSU.

CJ Daniels gives insight into LSU locker room

although Ed O was a buffoon, one could argue the culture instilled at LSU during the short guy's tenure was far worse. Our guys were lazy, our players were disinterested, our coaches would never give a clear, concise answer about Nuss being injured or not, lack of discipline and an OL that got embarrassed every play.

Brian Kelly was a cancer to this program.

I don't think he put any effort into anything except public appearances. All things point to him letting his assistant coaches and players do whatever they wanted and he just showed up in front of cameras and acted like the guy in charge.

Once we lost a real leader at OC and promoted Sloan, we didn't have any leadership at all.

This is a good return to that post and showcases how Lane and crew have to instill a new culture as well as a new offense.

Probably a good thing to have so many new guys coming in and to have had so many left. I have no doubts some were processed because of outlook and not just because of talent.

I hated that he left.

BK had just said that he was coming back
Either he didn’t have a good pulse on the team or Daniels misled him

I have a feeling CJ's main reason for transferring to Miami was NIL rather then the LSU locker room

he obviously made the best decision for himself and it paid off
good for him

Insane the primary reason we hired Brian Kelly was to change the culture rot Orgeron left, and he only magnified it

I keep joking that I wish we could fire Woodward twice, but I’m cool with three times too.

Idk man. Brian Kelly was certainly a more recent disaster, but people forget just how horriffic things were under Ed at the end there. The culture was about as bad as it could be under O, seemed to improve in year 1-2 under Kelly and then it bottomed right back out again when BK decided to not give a damn anymore.

Disagree...the culture he instilled won a national championship...hardwork and team. When he stopped actively "instilling" is when it got worse.

What’s worse, a kid running around the facility, or the coach not being present at the facility?

I'm not so sure that that was the issue. I think Ed wanted to be successful for a long time, I just think he didn't have the ability. Ed inherited some really elite coaches from Les and had a good bit of fortunate luck as well. If Ensminger doesn't spend time with Brady at a clinic, who only came because Payton and Carmichael were too busy, JB never gets to LSU. If Dave Aranda hadn't brought on Bill Busch to coach safeties, we never have the connection to the Burrow family in the portal that got our foot in the door of that recruitment. Once those guys started to leave though, Ed no longer could play the role of cheerleader in chief and instead had to make the nitty gritty decisions and he just wasn't good at it. Panic started to set in because he knew he was losing control and then all the social issue/covid stuff just poured gas on the fire.

Basically Ed caught lightning in a bottle in 2019 but once he had to do more than what he was good at, the thing fell apart.
