During the 90’s and most of the 2000’s this was such a great spot for Chinese food. It was on Boardwalk between N. Harrell’s Ferry and Sherwood Forest.
Anyone else have good memories of this restaurant?

Yes it was pretty good. 90's- 2000s was peak Chinese food time in BR. Hunans was still great, Bamboo Gardens (off the menu not the buffet) was great, The Great Wall expanded and had a great buffet.

Grew up in Sherwood Forest and Bamboo House was my parents favorite.
We went there so much they became friends with the owners and their family.
So sad what has become of that area today.

Cherry Coke with real cherries in it.
Used to go on Wednesday nights after my parents had their bowling league at Don Carter's.

favorite mongolian barbecue place ever
you drop off your bowl for them to cook and they give you a number and the old man would call out the numbers when ready on a Microphone
he would always say "numba numba"

Yes, didn’t they have a huge oak tree in front and a nice Chinese woman as a hostess. Our family loved going there.

and Chuck E Cheese. My frat at Nicholls made a road trip from Thibodaux to go to Bamboo House and Chuck E Cheese, followed by going to see Sling Blade at Tinseltown

In the early 2000's I delivered beer for Miller Lite in BR. Bamboo House was on my route. Bamboo House would prop the exterior door open with a box of frozen chicken. A door prop and the chicken thaws out, what a great idea!

My GF my freshman year was from Baton Rouge and her family would eat there once a week. Joined many times for a free meal for a poor college kid. Always hit the spot.

It was the best Chinese food in Baton Rouge. There's nothing as good now.
