I didn’t watch this series when it was on but I’ve always been a Nathan Fillion fan.

I started binging it last week and I gotta say, I’m really enjoying it. The weekly murder mystery format is fun and the side arcs from the characters is well done. Fillion really shows his acting chops as the end of season one closes and you begin to see the layers to the character.

Kata Stanic is gorgeous and holds her own as the straight man to Fillion’s comic relief.

All of the supporting cast is well written and over time you see things about them that help round them out as real people and not just props.

I’m almost done with season 2 and I like that the “Sam and Diane” sexual tension is still not being acted upon. I know it’s a trope that can only be strung out for so long before you have to give the audience what they want. But then, it’s really hard to keep the story going after that.

I’m hoping they stick the landing on the series and it ends well.

Either way, I’d recommend it for anyone looking for a fun series that’s not too deep.
