Sad Update: All six passengers and crew were killed.

A Bombardier Challenger 600 crashed as it was taking off from Bangor International Airport in Maine around 7:45 p.m local time on Sunday, Jan. 25. Eight people were on board. The FAA and NTSB will investigate.

The aircraft, registration N10KJ, is registered to KTKJ CHALLENGER LLC. The address for the LLC is 6009 memorial Drive in Houston. This is the same address as Arnold & Itkin LLP, a law firm owned by Kurt Arnold and Jason Itkin. Arnold and Itkin are major donors to the Univerity of Texas.

News reporting a "significant fire" at the crash too.

quote:

A government official who was briefed on the incident told Reuters there was a significant fire after the crash and that the plane had arrived in Maine following a flight from Texas.

This may be big for the legal community in the Southeast. Arnold & Itkin is a huge firm on the plaintiffs’ side.

I'd never heard of them until I walked into DKR and saw their names on the scoreboard. After doing some research they've won a ton of major cases.

Terrible. Why try to fly out of Bangor, ME in the middle of this kind of weather system? Just take some time and wait it out.

Looks like they were either picking up or refueling to go overseas. They just landed before taking off again.

Primarily in Louisiana they are known for plant explosion and other high casualty cases. Would routinely partner with Tony Clayton.

As far as skill goes, far more skilled than average plaintiff firm. Very very successful firm.

Usually the way it works with these places is the guys with their name on the building are the only guys allowed to use the plane but you never know. Hope your boy is all right.

Early reports are no survivors. Crashed on takeoff and flipped over.

Going to be a huge reverberation in Texas and Gulf South PI work if true.
