What is y'all's opinion on the game?

I really love it but it can spike in difficulty in ways I really hate. There’s some forced stealth sections that are very long and linear that drove me crazy

Game of the year in my opinion. If you like medieval times and RPGs with good stories I wouldn't hesitate.
The stat perks make for a lot of options in how you approach combat and gameplay.
Maxed charisma has made my playthrough really enjoyable with how I could pass skill checks in conversations.
I think my next playthrough i may try to rely on intimidation more.
the game has some mission sequences that match the best I've ever experienced in gaming.

I don’t have a ton of experience with this medieval rpgs. How does it relate to ES Oblivion’s remake? That was my only ES experience and had me intrigued for about 75% of the main story (I competed most of the guild quests) and then I simply lost interest

The quests are much more like what you find in the Witcher 3 depthwise compared to Oblivion. You really get to know your companions and have a lot of choices to make during quests, even the minor ones. Sorta like fallout new vegas quest system.
I've compared it to like a medieval era red dead 2 with friends but it definitely has more RPG elements than RDR2.
I see the Steam sale ended but its still $29.99 on GOG
LINK
Also i took this screenshot earlier today while playing. It was a random side quest that most people probably miss

It was by far my favorite game from last year.
It needs the quicksave mod to be thoroughly enjoyed though.
The developer needs to get that bullshite out of their system before whatever sequel or spiritual successor they end up making.

You can really tell the game is a labor of love.
Ive got so many savior snapps that the saving system doesn't affect me anymore. I did abuse the save and quit feature early on though

Have failed to complete witcher 3 through about 10 restarts. Finished both KCD games with no issues and cant wait for the next one.
Really well done, well written dialogues. Made by people who give a shite.

Would yall say you need to play 1 before 2?

It’s amazing.
I would at least watch a story summary or play the first game though. It should be cheap and it’s really good as well.

Id say buy 1. If you enjoy the story and journey you'll love 2 even more. I 100% hogwarts because i felt obligated. I 100% KCD because i didn't want it to end.

I tried to 100% out of obligation…it started out fun but became so tedious and boring. I had one more treasure chest to find in order to complete the 100% requirements (outside of
needing to go back and get to a certain point with each house, which would
have been easy). When I opened the chest there was a glitch where I wasn’t given the item, and it wouldn’t clear it from the map, but the cheat was visually open. I didn’t have a save state set up to be able to easily go back just a bit either. I was so enraged

This is tough because 2 is so much more approachable than 1. 1 can be a real pain in the arse to get started.
Id try to play 1 but there is a story recap for it on 2

They really need to get over this shite. Just add quick save. Its simple. I am GOING TO USE SAVE AND QUIT. Period. It’s a complete pain in the arse, it completely destroys the flow state of the game.
On top of that if I don’t save and have to repeat a very long, tedious, linear section I also want to quit.
Whatever dumb hard on they have for this idea ruins the game for me. Dont make me do in game busy work just to quick save.

I had bought it on sale then realized it was first person which I really don’t enjoy. So I exchanged it for Mario party for Christmas

It’s one of the best games I’ve ever played.
If you liked Witcher 3 you will like this.
Theres a TON of content so be ready to invest a lot of time.

Did the game have save & quit when you played or it was added in a later patch?
Now u can always save and quit even if u dont have any save potions.

This is exactly why I quit playing it way too early in the game (I think I was still in the tutorial stage.) I just don't have patience for roadblocks.

Yes save and quit has always been there when I played. On console it is slightly less annoying, but on PC it just takes you all the way back to desktop.
Either way save and quit turns into 15-30 seconds of a loading screen every time you want to "quick save"
It is a simple QoL thing. Sure I could add it via MOD on PC but I don't want to fix their stupidity.
