In the absence of an overt threat to ICE agents or trying to obstruct their duty performance, what justification do ICE have to disarm a legally armed citizens? Basically, is the mere presence of an open carry weapon tantamount to a threat near LEOs? I open carry and want to know if I'm at risk of getting shot by a LEO while picking up cinnamon rolls at the local donut shop.

Yes. Walking around ICE with a gun gives them the right to kill you.

was this guy open carrying or concealed carrying?

I’m sure concealed carry classes cover interaction with law enforcement

That legally armed citizen wasn’t just standing there waiting on the bus. You make it sound like he was.

Go impede an investigation, get hostile, go for said gun you openly carry, and report back.

If they perceive you as a threat? Yeah . . . you will be shot. Your job as an OC holder is to make sure that your intent is clear and that you are perceived as a friend, not a foe. Complicated in the particular environment where this took place . . . which is why it was NOT A GOOD IDEA to OC at a "protest".

ICE tried to disarm him for no reason other than he was open carry. Unfortunately, he fought back and was killed defending his constitutional right.

Open carry for some of you is just a "I dare you" move. I conceal carry all the time and have never had one problem. Why? Because I hope I never have to pull or use it. Stop acting like you're Wyatt Earp, go buy your donuts with your kids and conceal carry with zero issues.

I'm amazed at the stupidity of some people trying to flaunt their "rights" in front of LEO in this environment.

Threaten ICE officers with a gun or a car you are probably going to end up dead.

I’d say this is a huge problem for a growing number of people in this country. Way too many morons walking around hoping for a reason to use it.

If it's determined this man, who was shot by ICE agents was simply minding his own business and stumbled into an ICE operation and was shot, then your post has some merit. On the other hand, if this man is part of the MinneSomalia protestors trying to impede ICE agents from locating and removing illegal aliens from the US .....well, he placed himself needlessly in a dangerous and highly volatile situation.

Waltz and Frey are clearly instructing people to impede federal law enforcement. Waltz dumbass actually said in his press conference that ice and border patrol aren't law enforcement. Frey basically begging people to interfere and confront in his.

Walz and Frey are clearly wrong instructing citizens to impede LEOs performing their duties.

And if you’re carrying in good faith, that’s Rule #1: DON’T DO THAT.
