How does it benefit me as an individual for America’s (and the world’s) human population to keep growing every year?

Why should I personally be worried about the ‘replacement rate’?

You want fewer workers putting money into the system?

Huh.

How about the value of labor going up when there are fewer workers?

I don't want more people in my neighborhood or state either.

It's the state that wants more tax money each and every year, the corporations want more sales each and every year, and the federal government is right there with them.

But they created this population stagnation so they could provide the solution.

Someone has to keep the lights on after you leave the workforce and provide you medical care when you’re old.

Sometimes people are so stupid it's unfathomable.

Don't you realize everything is relative? You think if there are less people then the value of labor goes up so everyone just gets paid more and lives better lives?

Do you think if there were only 10 people on the planet then they would all live like Elon Musk?

Less people means less of everything. Less product. The value of things goes up as well. Unskilled labor doesn't become relatively more valuable.

Bingo. I'm supposed to WANT this, because a system I despise has thrust population growth on me as a condition of it's (and by definition, my) success.

What I DON'T want IS the ponzi scheme, and therefore don't want the population growth that it requires.

What happened to the value of labor when women entered the workforce en masse and effectively doubled the labor pool? You know, that ‘My parents in the 1950’s could affords a house and a car and etc’ trope.

I also assume that we have been flooded with illegals so that labor costs stay high?

Insults on this board are dull and predictable.

You shouldn't want more than replacement rate and zero immigration until we see how the AI and automation revolution shakes out.

All of our systems depend on infinite population growth to function now and in the future? I’m not buying it

Have you seen how many people today aren’t working or contributing anything at all?

This, it will come crashing down. Look at what South Korea and Japan is facing. Very bleak futures.

People need to have babies... I am not saying unfettered immigration.

Maybe but that wasn’t my aim. I am talking about population growth by whatever means.
