And it could also mean that Miss St or LSU could have started this “rumor.”

It's Cristobal's hometown, his alma mater and his passion.

He worked for Saban and he knows that Saban has confessed his big mistake was leaving college football.

He ain't moving to Pittsburgh.

I’d be shocked if he left Miami

He's a good coach, but he's just a small part of the reason players (Seaton) have interest in Miami.

The location is a part of it, but it's mostly about the bag.

The Steelers can be interested all they want, but Mario is made for college football. He'd be making a big mistake going to the pros and giving up the gig he has.

Highly doubt it. Steelers’ previous 3 hires since 1969 have all been young defensive coordinators all hired in their 30s. Cristobal has an offensive background and isn’t in his 30s being he’s 55 years old.

No way he leaves Miami now. Maybe in the future but not now.

Does interviewing a man of Cuban decent satisfy the Rooney Rule?

The college game is not coach friendly outside of the salaries. Hard to fault anyone going to the NFL.

You are not getting him to leave Miami. Plus, I heard that the ACC gave Miami all the playoff money instead of spreading it throughout the conference. With boosters willing to blow up to 10 mill for a one year QB rental and coming a few plays away from winning a national championship for his alma mater, he isn't going anywhere.

This is more likely his agent using this to get him a pay raise.

I ultimately agree that he stays put, but the Steelers job is the greatest case study in financial security this world has ever seen. You can't completely disregard an organization who has shown the willingness to always give people 20 years to figure it out.

I’m not sure if Mario is getting paid what Lane does, or whoever the highest paid college coach is, but this is probably agent shenanigans to make that happen.
