Fall 1985 was my freshman year at LSU. Eric Hill was also a freshman. He and I happened to be in a same class. I had no idea who he was, but when he walked in, I thought he was a bodybuilder. I did not even realize he was a football player. I cannot imagine what he must’ve looked like in the NFL.

People often forget about Eric Hill but he was a beast at LSU. Probably top 5 LB's to ever play at LSU. As Bo stated that guy was all muscle and a hell of a LB.

Tim Foley, former NFL great and color commentator for TBS, said after a colossal hit by Hill on a Tennessee running back: “Eric Hill is a significant human being.”

Someone said during his playing time at LSU yrs ago that the only player that Eric Hill wouldn’t mess with was Eric Andolsak. My gosh, I wish we had guys like that now on both sides of the ball.

He went Galveston(Texas) Ball High School, also the high school of LSU legend Charles Alexander, USL legend defensive back, Todd Scott, and butthole ex-A&M and current Tampa Bay receiver Mike Evans.

Hill was a man among boys...1st round draft choice...threw a guy through a window at Steve Bonfanti's old Bengal Lounge on Highland Road.
He was 'The Man' in those days!

There’s really no thread title that would have been better.

Well done.

Eric Hill and Devin While have to be my favorite LSU Linebackers of all time. But the Honkey Badger is coming up hard.

Hill holds the Cardinals record for tackles in a single game at 19. Dude was a beast.

Guy was known as “Blade” for a reason—was a wrecking ball between the white lines & apparently off the field as well.

My early teen years watching Michael Brooks then Eric Hill tear shite up as linebackers at LSU.

Michael Brooks got a lot of press at linebacker during that era (2 years older than Hill) and was an outstanding linebacker when healthy. However, Hill was a beast in his own right and a tackling machine.

I can't believe he's not in the Cardinals ring of honor. Did he do something to make that franchise hate him, or something?

My son played football with his son in NOLA. He was a big man.

Til he got hurt, they talked about Brooks being another LT. He was the dominant.
