In light of baws stocking up in preparation for 2 inches of snow, it got me reminiscing of the toilet paper shortage at the start of covid. I personally didn’t really notice much craziness. Just some signage in the tp section limited the amount of tp packages you could buy. I did see one lady with 3 packages of 18 rolls piled in her cart. I couldn’t believe my eyes lol.

I wasn't aware. I eat right and rarely have to wipe. Plus I have a bidet.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair...

I worked at a company in which there was panic buying on toilet paper. We had pallets.

We bought some at costco two or three weeks before the pandemic. When it came time to get some more the only place closest to us at that time that had it was a general dollar store. After that it was a non issue.

I kept a good supply from Costco so didn't change a thing and by the time I needed more the panic was over.

My son, freshman in high school at the time, found the entire situation fascinating. He decided he would get into supply chain because of it. Graduates from u of a in May with his degree in supply chain.

I saw some ladies loading up w/ TP at the stores, but never had an issue ordering it.

We have bidets, so it really wasn’t an issue for us.

We are a stockpile household, so I don't recall it affecting us much. We have at least one unopened XL package of TP, paper towels, detergent, etc. stored away at all times.

Even hand sanitizer and disinfectant, we buy the huge refill bottles as it is, so we didn't really run into issues.

I have a friend who was out of town when lockdowns hit, and she returned home to 1 single roll of TP and no stores in town with any.

Shelves were empty around here which was OK since we had a 12 pack left but I started wiping twice per wad. Then my MIL sent us a 24.oack from Costco online so that was cool. We were happy when we got that package but we had to spritz it with bleach and let it sit in the sun for a day

As do I. The only thing my brain can come up with is that people thought we were being locked down for months on end from some killer disease since we were told people were "dying in the streets".

I always wonder who started it. Like who saw someone with a massive TP package and went, "oh shite, I must need that too!!" and then it just snowballed?

Stockpiling 12 and 16 packs = random pussy in exchange. I had a truckload of it.
