And what does this mean exactly?
We'll still need to delete diesels or will they stop forcing the manufacturers to add the stupid shite to them?

People won't be getting fined a bazillion dollars for tampering with the emissions systems.

Does anyone have 5k I can borrow so I can delete my truck?
Posted on 1/22/26 at 2:27 pm to Kjnstkmn
Is this a license to delete?

I think Trump already did that but I'm not 100% sure

There was a big crackdown on shops doing the delete kits during the sleepy Biden admin with mega fines to the point it was hard to find one to do it for you.
Now under Trump the DOJ has come out and said they aren’t going to enforce it any more at all.
Changing the laws to get rid of this stupid shite altogether would be better but for that you’d have to get Congress off its arse, so don’t hold your breath.

OP doesn't know what a comma to the bottom is.
Should've been Deleted diesel, truck nuts [ON]

He did not. Diesel trucks built in 2027 will have the same emissions systems they do today.
What he did effectively do was chop the nuts off of CARB, which was driving some insane emissions standards for 2027. So, while we're stuck with what we've got (which really isn't bad for on-highway vehicles) hopefully it won't get worse.

Not exactly. If you live in BR, for example, you still won't be able to get an inspection sticker on a deleted diesel truck.
It's more of a sigh of relief for people who were still out selling diesel delete tuners who were getting absolutely railroaded under the Biden administration. You'd have been safer off shooting bald eagles while selling heroin to orphan illegal immigrants on the white house front lawn than getting caught tampering with a diesel truck emissions system in 2023.

I have a few daycabs I would kill to delete. I have spent over $50k the past few years on parts and bullshite and 2 full SCR replacements. Not to mention the stop engine lights when soot load percent is too high and I have to drive an hour to the truck to do a forced regen.

Well I went last week and all the asked for was my lic, ins, reg, and slapped on a new two year sticker. Lady said diesels were easy bc they don’t have to check anything.

Well if she did that in BR, I'm pretty sure she's incorrect. EBR and all the adjacent parishes are supposed to be emission checked as part of the inspection process due to us being naughty to the EPA long ago.

Is it even a law? Or just EPA regulations? Reigning in unelected bureaucracies will go a long way in getting rid of this annoying shite.
