Do I need to get my heart rate up if it's already naturally high?

I take a med to keep my heart rate down into normal range. Seems weird to try and inflate it back up into higher rates with exercise.
What say the OT?

You’re probably fine. Go ahead and put a deposit down on a rascal.

seems like something you should ask your doctor.

what could go wrong?

i'm not sure i've seen doctors recommend not exercising in order to promote a healthier body.

My heart rate averages right at between 95-105 beats per minute which is on the high range. I tried to take some meds to lower it, but it made me dizzy and did nothing for the heart rate.

Yikes! Is that your resting heart rate?

Does blood go everywhere when you get a paper cut

Yes. That is what it is normally get when I get checked the doctor's office. Some times I have seen it around 90.
I do periodic checks, but they seem around a hundred. I have eliminated caffiene and it did not do anything.
I am feel like buying an Apple Watch to see if it goes lower between checks.
I wore a 24 hour heart monitor for 2 weeks in March they didn't see any cardiac events. But in my last visit this month, I asked the doctor about my heart rate and he looked back at the data and saw that my heart rate was nearly 101 for the two week period.

"I have high blood pressure. Is that good for me?" is basically what this thread is saying

The only advice you should take from this board are from posters who tell you to talk to your cardiologist. Ignore all others and go see your doctor.

Atenolol. Ask your doctor for it. Be your own advocate. Advocate for yourself in the doctor's office. Too many doctors really don't give a shite until the patient asks for it. I hadn't seen a doctor in 20+ years and finally starting going to one. After the 3rd visit with constantly high blood pressure and heart rate, I finally said "shouldn't I be on meds for this?" And a light bulb went off in his head "oh yes, of course, I'm going to write you a prescription" and now my BP and HR is in normal ranges, and I feel great. Sure I was a little overweight but I'm now within 10 pounds of my target or "ideal" weight, still need those pills. It's hereditary and will kill you early.

You might need to have an EP study and see if you have some kind of accessory pathway situation going on causing the high rate. I lived with that most of my life. Maybe discuss that with your doctor/cardiologist.

There is a mentality in the medical community. They want repeat business and there are two types of patients. Those that WANT to be diagnosed and those that want a doctor that is subjective. When you go in with a pharmaceutical commercial suggestion, you become the former. They'll happily put you on a script to keep you coming back. Hell, half the docs want to put you on a script just to keep you coming back even if it isn't needed.
I went to a doctor because I had a stage in life where I had a couple of panic attacks. Doctor wanted to put me on some sort of new drug that was $600 a month after insurance even though there are tried and true generic drugs available. Went to the next doctor and he said if you can manage then you dont need any drugs. Gave me some emergency use pills thag were super cheap. Fortunately I toughed it out and im not dependent on any kind of meds.
