So a normal down on his luck Earth guy finds a magical something or other - in this case a sword - and gets sent to a fantastical land to help defeat the bad guy and/or save the land.
At least that's what I caught from this teaser.
They already did this with the Minecraft movie.
They even have a black dude who wasn't present in the original cartoon to get that diversity quota up.

Teaser trailers to promote the upcoming trailer are dumb. If people actually fall for this, they are dumb. Can't we just get a freaking trailer for the movie and stop this trailer for trailer nonsense?

Apparently it will be more along the lines of how Superman’s parents sent him to Earth. Adam was sent to Earth as a baby to protect him. He is unaware of his identity at first.

He's a great actor but everyone that knows He -Man, knows Man at Arms is white. Besides for Tropic Thunder we don't get white actors to play black characters.

I don't know why they didn't make this film into a serious epic instead of what it clearly is... A combo of some. Jupiter Ascending and some Taika Waititi schlok... That won't appeal to anyone.
Milius gave everyone the blueprint 45 yrs ago with Conan and LOTR did the same 25 yrs ago.
Take the properties serious and they will be seriously good films.

I get what you're saying, but you have to remember that it's based on a toy line and it's kinda hard to make a serious epic movie when the main character is called "He-Man."
That said, Frank Langella played it totally straight as Skeletor in the 1987 film and was by far the best part of the movie.

Unless the character's race is important (T'Challa or LOTR Elves) or irrevocably changes the story for the worse (Fantastic 4 with Michael B Jordan, Snape)
