Because they weren’t worth what they thought, tried to go back, and their spot was gone.

Agents giving terrible advice.

“Agent” has an actual meaning in the pro leagues with standards and certification. “Agent” in the NIL world is a completely meaningless and often is someone’s grifter uncle or buddy.

Who could have predicted that agents work for themselves?

While I’m sure a lot of these players are definitely getting taken advantage of, at the same time it’s hard to really for bad for them. It’s a valuable life lesson that the grass ain’t always greener.

That's the risk you take by going into the portal. It's good to have confidence in yourself and your abilities, but don't be delusional about it.

I wonder how many players entered the portal because of advice their "representation" gave them. And of those, how many are without a roster spot.

Yep, some of these “agents” are family members that have zero clue what they are doing or demanding. The whole thing is such a shite show.

Can you imagine the idiots some of these teams have to deal with when trying to discuss money?

Raoila has to be one of them. No way did he think he would be on the bench as a junior

Being an “agent” in college athletics is as simple as a man saying he’s a woman.

Reminds me of how agents tell about 100 players every year they are guaranteed first round picks, and there are 32 spots.

Why would you enter portal unless you know you have a couple offers out there?

No doubt. That said he landed on his feet pretty well. Prime program, good money and the job is his after next season. Maybe not his plan but not a bad fallout.

“dozens of players”

Well no shite, there were 3,057 players in the portal. There are probably 100s regretting their decision.

A 19 year old trying to transfer deserves to have a destroyed career?

What sort of welfare program would you like to start for those not good enough?

Something DEI-related won't work obviously?
