Eh, you already know our fanbase, but more so, this board is ate up with catastrophe syndrome. They were just hitting the copium a bit early, preparing for a world where no one better/more experienced was inked. I will say, given the Brian Kelly experience, it’s tough to blame them.

It's hilarious that people thought we hired Lane Kiffin and allocated hundreds of millions of dollars to go to 2026 with Clark and Pic as the QBs (no offense, I love all our QBs).

Clark is a smart upside swing who likely didn’t cost us much. As I’ve said before, before the COVID year and portal, he likely would have been a G5 starter who either did the old school transfer and sat a year, or played a 2nd season and became a grad transfer.
But none of this means he would have been a legit candidate to be our starter next season.

So I’m pretty consistent on telling people to calm down on this board but I really can’t blame people for being concerned about an empty QB room. There was no reason to panic yet, obviously, but it’s silly to pretend it wasn’t a concern. It was a big enough concern for Kiffin to go poach Leavitt while he was visiting Tenner.

I am in the camp that there will be competition in practice, but the majority understand Leavitt is likely it. He will likely earn it. I love Clark's tape and attitude. The weak competition he had makes it harder to predict how successful he might be in the SEC. Those were some bad dbs in his highlight reel. Longstreet has the skills, just haven't seen it in college yet.
