I mean there has to be a limit with all this bullshite. Expanding the playoffs to 24 teams, the NIL being a joke and the unregulated portal.

I used to spend almost every Saturday when i was off from work watching football from 11am to whenever the late games ended, this year was the first year where a lot of that changed. My interest just isn't there and its not because the Huskers suck, they've been irrelevant for 20+ years now, its just because so much of CFB is dead to me at this point and im really starting to hate what its becoming.

It just sucks having to admit this.

When the first TV contract negotiation with the sec or big ten goes really bad

And that's only going to happen when ratings go to shite

It won’t. CFB playoff game ratings are basically doubling the NBA finals. If NFL is king in this country, CFB is the queen.

God...you people.

College football has been around for 150 years and has gone through all kinds of changes, this is just another one.

It's too big to fail. They will figure it out and make it work - you think colleges, boosters, networks, etc are going to let this cash cow die?

I don't know what will happen or when. But what is going on now is unsustainable. And its ruined my enjoyment of the sport. It won't "collapse," but there will be changes. Maybe even a split of some kind among the colleges.

There might be an NIL bubble right now but I don’t think college football will collapse as long as the sport of football exists. And since this country is crazy for football, I doubt it’s going anywhere.

When people stop paying attention to it.

Hint:

They wont.

college football isn't as authentic as it once was.

but neither are other sports.

But it's either watch it and appreciate what you have or don't.

I was more dialed in this year than some of the previous years...I find the SEC football slate interesting and watched a lot of those games...don't really watch the other conferences...the SEC is fun to watch.

I was tuned in to the playoffs games...but was disappointed we had to watch Tulane and JMU water it down...I think they will fix that.

I like the idea of 16 teams and no byes.

Its going to be hilarious when the blue boods of the SEC realize that schools like Penn State, Ohio State, USC, etc can run circles around them in endowments.. There's only so many trial lawyers and chicken finger guys to keep dumping more money, and LSU has already lowered admission standards to the point of having gangland shootouts at the tailgates

Endowments are not used for football.

It's an unregulated circus of money-motivated players. It'll take someone fully understanding the system and breaking it so absolutely that it will be nauseating to watch from the outside. Lane might be that guy to do it here; he certainly has the financial backing to do it. Every dollar that's been asked for has been given.

Bama dominated the post season largely for 15 years by stockpiling 4 and 5 star talent. National pundits pushed for playoffs to achieve more national representation, but the thing that no one saw coming was the NIL era.

LSU with its prime recruiting ground and deep pockets might actually dominate the sport and it bring about some changes, but we'll see.

The next generation of fans aren't being cultivated. Kids can't grow up idolizing players because the players exist in ur team for 1 year and disappear.

The atmosphere of "big" regular season games is also gonna vanish. 24 team playoffs mean almost no actual stakes for top 10 match ups. Both of those teams will be in the playoffs no matter what.
