We've already signed four receivers. How many more do we need?

You need a lot of WRs. Plus now that you can have 105 scholarship players, why not?

Keep in mind that not everyone that comes in is offered. These visits are like job interviews. It may be the first time the player and most of the coaches have met.
I can report that we haven’t necessarily offered everyone that has visited. We may be getting selective at WR now too but if the visit goes really well we may offer.
The high school kids you get to know them a long time, have them at camps, etc. these portal players maybe you recruited them in HS and maybe not.
Plus you have to find out their major since most portal players are close to graduating and all the academic stuff.
If this guy can help us returning punts, playing special teams that also comes into consideration.

We don’t. Was at McNeese for a reason.
However, Lane offered him while at Ole Miss.

quote:i think we lost 10 WR to graduation/transfer. We signed 3 from HS. And we have currently 4 transferring in. We would need 3 more to get us back up to where we're were on number of WRs but of course they can always have more or less depending on how to want to handle the roster plus roster size increased.
How many more do we need?

You’re very ignorant if you think great players don’t ever come from FCS.

that is an exercise in futility.

What about SWAC players? Maybe he's the next coming of this dude.
Jerry Rice attended Mississippi Valley State University (MVSU) from 1981 to 1984, where he became a college football legend as part of the high-powered "Satellite Express" offense, setting numerous NCAA records for receptions and touchdowns before being drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in 1985. He led MVSU to national prominence, earning recognition as a first-team All-American and SWAC Player of the Year in 1984
