Re: Demond - the juice is not worth the squeeze here

Was excited to see the links to a promising QB, but the more I dig into Demond Williams, the more issues I find and really think we should move in another direction.
1. First and foremost the uncertain legal aspect of this, which we’re all aware of… Washington and B10 challenging it, likely leading to a substantial legal battle and lawsuit. it’s not clear whether he can even be granted eligibility and if he does it’ll be a headache.
2. More importantly - are we sure he’s actually that good? Demond Williams against ranked teams this season
63% completion
511 yards
2TD
5INT
Rushing
28 carries
-20 yards
0 TDs
Oh and didn’t score against Wisconsin. Putrid QBR vs good teams in B10 play this year.
3. Small, not a physically imposing QB, something that I think matters in the SEC. You saw it with Mateer this year, he took a lot of hits and slowly but surely broke down and became less aggressive to his team’s detriment. Even a #1 pick level talent like Bryce Young struggled mightily in that 2022 season and couldn’t get away with it leading to a disappointing Bama year.
But #4, most importantly-
It’s really bad PR and sets us up to be the ultimate villains of the sport as poster boys of conniving and loopholes. Makes us look uber slimy and that’s on top of the lawsuit. If he was truly a world beater it’d be different, but taking the nuclear option here to get him out of US seems like the juice not being worth the squeeze.
Surely there’s an easier path to a viable starting QB next year than this.

Crack is a hell of a drug.

So tell us, who should LSU go after right now at QB? Who is that one guy in the portal right now that is going to make LSU a potential contender this season?

What were Chambliss's stats as a prior starting QB and then the portal backup QB at Ole Mrs?
Compare those with your stats posted.

Sweet take…I’ll take Lane’s assessment over your BS

You're living on paper dude. Watch him play. He's a stud.
Edit: Here's a similar breakdown of another player. I'll save who it is for the end so you can try to guess.
In his final 5 starts (against USC, Washington, Oregon State, Arizona, and Wisconsin), he was:
58/98 (59.2%) for 646 yards (129 per game)
3 touchdowns, 5 interceptions
added 278 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns
The player was 2021 Arizona State QB Jayden Daniels.

Mateer is 6'1 225. His issues have nothing to do with his size, but with poor decision making at times. He also didn't slowly break down. He fractured his thumb, and then rushed back too soon.

Don’t think there’s a QB out there who makes LSU a title contender next year to be honest.

I’m sure the D2 kid LK signed to ole Miss was complete arse. Oh wait

So all the schools that recruit LSU players in the portal are uber slimy?

You’ll have to excuse me for trusting Lane Kiffin and Charlie Weiss to know exactly what they are doing when it comes to scouting and player development. i.e. seeing a YouTube highlight tape from the Ferris St QB, plugging him into their system, and dominating CFB.
Not some random internet poster making up random shite.
