Washington will NOT put Williams’ name in portal

Schools have 48 hours to put a player’s name in the portal. Believe Lucas had to wait a bit and also legal action was taken.
Lucas announced publicly on Dec 19 he was entering portal but Wisconsin wasnt honoring his request (told them on the 17th he was entering). Jan 7 is when he hired an attorney and believe on the 17th withdrew from school and enrolled at Miami. I doubt it takes this long this time because there’s blueprint to how to approach but new rev share could slow it down a bit imo.

What exactly is UW's play here? It sucks, but what's the end game? Force a kid that does not want to play for your school to play for your school? That sounds like a terrible idea.

I don't know the specifics behind all this crap going on in the transfer portal world, but this feels like Washington is really about to hurt themselves.
I understand taking a stand, but this will only hurt them with players in the future. They're essentially being petty and trying to frick Williams over. Also, if he can't transfer, he's not going to be happy to be at Washington. It feels like a lose/lose situation for them.
Just let the young man go. For whatever reason, he doesn't want to be there.

Not a good look for Washington they might never get another portal kid cause you might end up hostage lol. I couldn’t imagine an employer forcing me to stay

so, I read that the Big10 helps their member schools with these contracts. so, all players that sign with a Big10 school potentially could have this issue? Does the SEC, ACC, etc have the same language that holds the players to their contract like this?

So, he simply withdraws, academically transfers to LSU and problem solved. He does not even need to use the portal
