Texas comes in at 7, Louisiana at 31- up 6 spots from 2025!

Still dead last in sales tax though, highest rate with expanded tax base including software and streaming services.

My high sales tax takes a lot less of my money than your property tax.

Sales taxes are among the most “fair” of all possible taxation regimes. Everyone, from poors to illegals, pays sales taxes. Why would it bother me?

Because the government takes more of you money and has more control over your behavior that way.

But unsurprising from a Louisianan, most love being governed

I am certain it's abundant. I have two daycares in my area that never have anyone there. No cars for workers even.

This is your career change. Go get them on video!

ETA: get you a CFE certified fraud examiner. It’s an easy test. Then go to work.

This is an idiotic take. There’s nothing inherent to favoring sales taxes over other forms of taxation that necessitates the total taxation regime being higher.

Look into the tax foundation, the organization from my link

Or look into the real world in the rest of the world

Or don’t, I don’t really care

So no citation for the nonsensical proposition that type of taxation is inherently linked to total rate of taxation. Shocked
