New Orleans Saints and Pelicans owner Gayle Benson and Gov. Jeff Landry have a big trip planned to New York next week.

During the two-day excursion, the tandem will visit with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and NBA commissioner Adam Silver to update them on the business affairs of the Saints and Pelicans, and to re-emphasize the state’s interest and readiness to host future Super Bowls and NBA All-Star Games. Benson arranged the meetings and invited Landry to attend them as her guest.

The first stop will be Atlanta, where Benson and Landry will watch the Saints play their season finale against the rival Falcons at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

From there, they will fly to New York and meet Goodell at NFL headquarters in Manhattan to discuss, among other things, New Orleans’ hopes to bid on the 2031 Super Bowl.

The local inhabitants get to be the new owners and the US gets Greenland.

How awesome would it be to see NFL players on a field of stone in Greenland mid-January

If you don’t see them, my spelling them out won’t help.

Seems like the kind of thing any governor might do and has done.

I guess you have some spin as it’s just what the bad Republican ones might do.

Landry’s reputation speaks for itself.

I see giving up being pointlessly pedantic was not a New Year’s resolution.

What a strange comment to a non-story.

Gayle is looking to sell the teams but wants assurances and guarantees to make the deal more profitable for her.

Don't make us come in here and defend Landry vs your leftwing rainbows and unicorn fantasies.

This is not a big deal. Yet, you spout out some asinine gotcha comparison.

I’ve got a list of grievances with the way Huey P Landry behaves and governs.

This isn’t one of them. This is actually a positive.
