Has any Power 4 school had as many players enter the portal as LSU?

It is ridiculous. Good players, underperformers, second stringers…. It doesn’t matter.

Money and Coaching turnovers is why this is happening...its not brain science. Quick bit of advice....don't get too upset if a player leaves or too happy when a player commits. There is no loyalty anymore in this sport. We will be fine regardless, b/c we have the best coach in this day in age today. Hello, do you see what is happening in Oxfart??

Oklahoma State has 41 players in the portal.

It's completely normal now, especially in a coaching change. Iowa State has 40+ in the portal.

I really don't see much happening here. By my count we are targeting maybe 15 players. We need 20 to 25 - 8 or 9 need to be OL and I can't find even 1 or 2 on our radar. Whatever Lane did at OM doesn't seem to be happening here, unless he already knows half of his 2 deep at OM are coming here after they finish playing. From the info available it looks like we will end up very thin on offense. No QBs, almost nil at RB, OL and WR.

CLK has been at LSU for close to one mth. You have no idea how the portal works vs regular recruiting.

Iowa St was down to single digit starters left and half of the roster gone. We’ve only lost 2 or 3 defensive players thanks to Baker staying.
This many departures is due to the coaching changes on offense.

Pay attention. We haven't even had that many enter. Go look at Penn State and Iowa State. Expect 18 to 20 to enter the portal every year. Expect 1/2 of each HS recruiting class to be gone by year 2. This isnt an NIL issue. This is a portal issue. Until the NCAA gets some balls or the power 4 separate and create it's own rules, this is how it will be. Simple fix. 1 free transfer and after that you sit out a year. Allow multi-year scholarship and NIL/rev share deals. That right there eliminates probably 75% of this.

15 or so will go in to the portal every year because they have been passed up and won't start so they transfer to find a starting spot. Look at the LSU defensive portal entries. They are visiting group of 5 schools.

To be fair a lot of this is exaggerated with a new staff. Just be patient there is zero reason to panic. Just give it time.

Think about it they’re close to 4000 players in the portal right now. It’s out of control for everybody. This is not an LSU thing.

1. It's early,
B. We are going to target and recover at least a few of our guys who have gone into the portal, depending on money and new staff evaluations, and
III. If you think we're not going to sign at least 30 players from the portal (including our own guys we recover), then I just don't know what else to tell you.
I don't think we could field a team without signing 30 at this point. The number of current scholarship upperclassmen on the offensive side feels like it is approaching single digits at this point.
