We should pay a reasonable amount to keep Curne, Calloway, Echols & Adams. With proper coaching, they can be good O linemen

Hypothetical. Would you prefer a combo of Michigan and Ole Miss Oline instead?

Define pay. I'd make sure Curne gets a healthy bump but the others need to show & prove. Can Adams stay healthy?

Moore is the linchpin for 2026, though. Key cog that has to come back IMHO

YES. Even if they just become serviceable it’s going to be hard to pull 5-6 o linemen in the portal I feel like

Not sure. The staff needs to make judgments on
1) is the talent and drive there?
2) was the poor play due to coaching…

My question is how will the staff know without seeing them play at present and evaluate (not past with no coaching)? The 1st 3 were highly rated out of HS.

One would think the current amount of film study by the staff would be at 20 hours a day…

I wanted to keep Curne and Adams badly but both are trending in the wrong direction for that to be the case. Tyree Adams will visit A&M & Kentucky.

But why? I want him back too, but hes MORE valuable now than last offseason? Pay him 1 dollar more than another team IF its fair for his performance.

He was one of the strongest players on the team when he stepped on campus but we didnt put him in the best position to succeed in year 1.

Move him back inside to guard and watch him flourish

Well, we’ve been through the recruiting process and a season or two with most of them. Lots more data available now than just out of high school.

By entering the portal, these players have opened the recruiting process again. It’s still hard to judge who’s worth keeping at those positions as a spectator. They all have size and athleticism but most seemed confused during play execution. The new staff has player evaluation personnel coming in. I toss who gets an offer to them.

So what do we know about him now that we didn’t when we recruited him?

How many can play tackle?
How many are guards?

This is why we can't possibly know the answer to this. Yes, I think all of those players are probably better than what they've shown. But no I'm not gonna give them a lot of money when there's other guys in the portal who have shown more

We know he was the #1 IOL in his class who we tried to play at tackle as a true freshman

Also, inflation. The idea a players salary should remain static in a year where our budget increases over 50% is wrong IMO. Budgets everywhere are going up year over year

This and they need to either bring in a back up with multiple years left and/or develop one or two

That is the reason I would like them to retain Echols and/or Weston Davis

We already have two guards and offfensice tackle on the way. Verne can go as he just called out LSU!
