Today and counting....
Could you imagine posting on social media to your significant other of 2 years - "after further consideration, i've decided to stay tied down and fully committed to my woman".
This shite is crazy
Jay johnson time .. (but excited to watch kiffin do what he does best)

1.6% of NCAA football players will earn spot on NFL roster.
NiL is for 98.4% who have no chance. Unfortunately, most of 98.4% will spend it on stupid chit. Nearly 100% chance for stupid chit.
As for HS recruits hopeful for either / both…They are in short term bubble, an after thought…come 10+ years later. Fact.
Bastardized amateur and professional system needs structural reinvention to take bastardization out.

Portal open! One piece of advice I would give a player having been on all sides of the portal process: don’t mess up your life’s money for a one-time bag.
Yeah, school “X” offered you 50k more than school “Y” did. But, now you transferred to a place that didn’t have your program; you lost credits. You played at 3 places and have no network and no one that has a vested interest in your success after graduating.
Even more so, with all these redshirts. If you have ONE year left to graduate and TWO years left to play: finish your degree. You can always go somewhere your last year and chase the bag or go down a level and play.
Just make sure “life changing money” IS life changing and not just briefly lifestyle changing. Factors like quality of life and cost of living matter.
One last thing on it: if you leveraging the portal to get more $ at your current school and that does NOT work, it’s even less likely the portal is going to be beneficial. Be careful!

Are you against players getting money? If not, then there's no problem here

Everything you say makes sense. Except you are leaving out the biggest dynamic in the portal transfers: agents who care about only one thing, money.

The majority of those players won’t even find a roster.

Is there any way to see how many of those were scholarship players?
Because that would be getting close to about a third of all FBS scholarships.
