Right after the Ohio state loss last season I was grilled for saying this.

Funny all the osu fans are quiet now

Oregon was the favorite. I don’t even count ASU and Boise last year.

Idk that it’s that big of a deal

Indiana and Georgia are about to put an end to this coincidence that everyone keeps saying is the whole truth.

It’s not the bye it’s the time off. The playoffs obsession with using the bowl games has made the schedule absurd.

The first round of playoff games should be the weekend after the conference championship games. Second round is the next weekend. Semifinals weekend after Christmas. Finals right after NY.

You can’t get a bye if you don’t play in a conference title game. Longest anyone will have off is two weeks, just like a normal bye during the season.

Boom problem solved

Indiana with the first points in the 1st quarter for any team with a bye is wild as well…bye teams outscored 44-3 all time

No way Georgia wins tonight. I don't understand why people can't see how good Ole Miss is. Losing the head coach won't even matter as they will feel disrespected and rally to a win. If anything it will only help them.

The long break between the end of the season and the bowls has always made offenses performing at their normal level dicey so it should be no surprise it does the same to teams in the playoff.

I never said it kills every offense. I said it makes keeping your offense at it's normal level dicey, as in it's uncertain teams can keep their momentum. It's been an issue for lots of teams in bowls for a long time. No reason to pretend it's not been an issue for several teams in the playoff era.

It probably isn't, its just needless. End the charade and get rid of the CCG's, expand it to 16 to eliminate byes, then start the playoffs that weekend and play consecutively. If there has to be a week off, do it between the quarters and the semis.

Oh, and everything before the semifinals on campus.

Won't be 0-7 and probably not 1-7 after Ole Miss/Georgia either

You are aware they have already played this year and Georgia won, right?

It was at UGA and Ole Miss lead most of the game until the 4th quarter when disaster mode happened. If that game is at Ole Miss its an easy win.

That’s a mighty bold assumption

OSU didn’t lose because of the bye. They lost because their offense line was terrible in the first half

And OSU played well enough to have a chance to win in the fourth quarter.

I said before teams needed a couple things to go their way to beat OSU and that happened. Not a big deal it’s a football game.
